A Glimpse into the Safe Care Campaign to Prevent the Spread of Infection

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

These are the problems that the Safe Care Campaign is trying to combat through educating not only the patients entering medical facilities but also the medical community as well. Just as with all infection control measures, the best defense according to the Safe Care Campaign is thorough hand hygiene.

1. Do not touch the face, especially around the eye area as this can spread germs.
2. Wash hands often, particularly after playing with other toys or children.

‘ Wash your hands, cutting boards, cooking utensils and more before and after handling raw meat and vegetables. Make sure you use hot water and soap.

1. Cut down on allergens like mold, pollen and dust by investing in a HEPA filter for your central air and heating. Don’t forget to replace your air conditioning filter about once a month as well.
